Born and raised in Far Rockaway Queens, New York, Persia has had a love for hip-hop that dates back to her days on the playground. At a very young age she discovered the radio and was hooked on listening to the likes of MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Lords of the Underground, M.O.P, and Nas, to name a few. Growing up in ‘old-school’ New York, the birthplace of hip-hop, built the foundation for a uniquely feminine style of rhyming that is also raw and in-your-face. Through many ups and downs in her life, Persia wrote about the battle that was unfolding around her. It was her only therapy. Her lyrics paint vivid pictures and her relatability crosses over various demographics rather smoothly. Fast forward to summer 2006 when she attended her first audition for what would soon be VH1’s “The White Rapper Show”. Needless to say, she nailed the audition and was an instant favorite when the show aired on the popular cable network in January of 2007. The audience was quickly drawn to her bold personality and saw her talent for what it was, a certified winner. There is a large following that is eager to hear Persia’s mixtapes, and they can’t get enough of her clever delivery. The energy from the record also translates to electric when Persia performs in clubs for a live and very loyal audience. As Stated in Complex Magazine- “Soon the world will know what only a few know now: Persia is a born star, point blank.”
