Southern roots, a world of talent
Blenda Monique Yarbro hails from Nashville, TN. Growing up in a military family, she traveled the world, logging her first stage experience at the tender age of 5 in a production of “The Wiz” in Berlin, Germany. Upon returning stateside, she pursued her high school education in New York and eventually Maryland, where she focused on dance and was named “Most Inspirational Cheerleader” by the Washington Redskins for two years running.
A “model” citizen
Blenda Yarbro’s unspoiled beauty and charismatic personality lent itself naturally to modeling. Her photos have been featured in magazines, on CD covers and calendars, including FUBU Rider’s Bike Calendar and Total Black Hair. She has appeared in numerous beauty contests, respectably finishing 3rd in the Miss Maryland U.S.A. Pageant in 2002. These are just a small sampling of the many personal and professional achievements to Ms. Yarbro’s name.
Giving back
Blenda Yarbro is now president and founder of her own dance company, Dazzle Me Inc. This company is dedicated to helping inner city youth find the empowerment they need to achieve their dreams in the field of the performing arts. One of her favorite quotes she shares with her troupe is “hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.”
